Today’s blog features my newest paintings which feature the beautiful horses from Turning Point Arabians in Aubrey, Texas. My husband and I were so privileged to visit the ranch this summer during our trip to Texas. We loved meeting owners Robert and Lucienda and hearing about all their horses. The couple beamed with pride as they introduced us to each one and turned me loose with my camera to gather reference photos for paintings.
First to be photographed was Tarrick, their gorgeous black bay Arabian stallion whose rich coat was saturated with color. He stood with gentleness and pride beside Robert, then set off with dynamic movement through his pasture. His painting is pictured above. And here’s a bit of information from Turning Point Arabians Tarrick web page.
Tarrick is an Afire Bey V son out of a Bask Granddaughter. He is a 15 hand black bay with excellent conformation, length of neck, short back, and a royal presence. He is passing these qualities along to his foals as well as his loving disposition.
My second new painting features the family’s two Arabian mares, Nadeer and Diamond, full sisters whose father is Tarrick. Photographing the pair was so fun! They moved in tandem, as if in a choreographed dance. How perfect for the Horse Ballet series.
As a special note, Lucienda works in hospital in the Dallas Fort Worth area, which is being hit hard by the coronavirus. Please keep her and Robert – and her patients – in your prayers.
